What We Believe

1. God is good. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, there is none other than Him. (Psalm 25:8 Psalm 25:8 | Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. [NIV]; Revelation 1:8 Revelation 1:8 | "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." [NIV])

2. God exists as three Persons in One: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (John 1:1-14 John 1:1-14 | [1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was with God in the beginning. [3] Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. [4] In him was life, and that life was the light of men. [5] The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. [6] There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. [7] He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. [8] He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. [9] The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. [10] He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. [11] He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. [12] Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — [13] children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. [14] The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. [NIV])

3. Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born through virgin birth. (Matthew 1:20-23 Matthew 1:20-23 | [20] But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. [21] She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." [22] All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: [23] "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" — which means, "God with us." [NIV] )

4. All men sin and need Jesus as their Saviour. (Isaiah 53:4-6 Isaiah 53:4-6 | [4] Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. [5] But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. [6] We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. [NIV]; John 14:6 John 14:6 | Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. [NIV])

5. Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross. Through faith we are partakers of His death for remission of our sins, eternal life and peace with our Heavenly Father. (John 3:15-16 John 3:15-16 | [15] I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. [16] I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. [NIV]; Acts 26:18 Acts 26:18 | [18] [T]o open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me. [NIV]; Romans 5:1 Romans 5:1 | [1] Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, [NIV])

6. Jesus Christ rose from the dead after three days by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus ascended to heaven and is now sitting on the right hand of the Father. Through faith we receive the Holy Spirit and the power of the resurrected life of Christ. God the Father placed all things in submission to Christ. (Romans 5:2 Romans 5:2 | [T]hrough whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[a] rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. [NIV]; Ephesians 1:19-23 Ephesians 1:19-23 | [19] [A]nd his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, [20] which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, [21] far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. [22] And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, [23] which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. [NIV])

7. The Word of God is eternal and inspired, word for word, by His Holy Spirit. The Word of God received, believed and practiced determines the believer's character, behaviour and destiny. (Ephesians 4:17-23 ; II Timothy 3:16-17 )

8. God answers and rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Matthew 7:7-8 ; Hebrews 11:6 )

9. All the gifts and promises of God are valid and active. (Isaiah 55:10-11 )

10. The Church is a body of believers with Christ as the Head. The Church functions according to the fivefold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers and pastors. (Ephesians 4:8-12 )

11. The Church will rise in unity and maturity in faith and will progressively manifest the Kingdom of God on earth. (Ephesians 4:13-16 )

12. Jesus Christ will return one day. The dead will be resurrected. Those who are saved will be judged according to their works in Christ and live with Him on a new earth forever. Those who are not saved will be cast into the lake of fire. (John 14:3 ; Revelation 21:1-8 )
